Warwick Farm hosts midweek Sydney racing. Our analyst likes a Charlton gelding that looks an improver 2nd up and a Mathew Smith 4yo that turned in a real eye-catcher last start.

Best Selection: R4- Hovland

Hovland was 0.7L 2nd to race favourite Superfabulistic 1st up. He meets her 1.5kg better at the weights and should be an improver 2nd up where you’d imagine the Waterhouse/Bott mare has likely peaked coming up to start 5 this prep. $6 looks a great bet.

Value Selection: R6- Silencio Porfavor

The Matthew Smith 4yo looks ready to win after an eye-catching 1.3L 3rd over this trip at Kensington last start. He settled back as usual and was all over heels at the top of the straight before switching lanes on several occasions and never seeing clear air. He definitely should’ve been in the finish. He does step up in grade and only drops one 1kg in weight but benefits from a senior rider going on from a good gate. $12 is great value.
