The 2025 PGA Championship begins on Thursday from the Quail Hollow Golf Course in Charlotte, North Carolina. Here are the three golfers we like the most this week to win the second major of the season.

Rory McIlroy

The 2025 Masters Champion has completely dominated the PGA Tour stop at Quail Hollow over the last 15 years. In 2010, McIlroy posted a four-round score of -15 and beat Phil Mickelson by four strokes. In 2015, McIlroy posted a four-round score of -21, and beat Americans Patrick Rodgers and Webb Simpson by seven strokes. In 2021, McIlroy finished at -10, and beat Mexico’s Abraham Ancer by a stroke, and in 2024, McIlroy once again clobbered the field and beat his closest competitor Xander Schauffele by five strokes after posting a winning score of -14. He is the co-betting favourite at this time at +500.

Scottie Scheffler

We all know that the world number one was not very good to begin the year after injuring his hand making Christmas dinner. Two weeks ago in Dallas, Scheffler was unbelievable in winning as our best bet at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. This was Scheffler’s first win of the year, and was an absolute beast, as he posted a winning score of -31. This could have been the best tournament Scheffler has ever played. The closest competitor to Scheffler was Erik van Rooyen of South Africa, eight strokes back. Based on his recent success, Scheffler is the other co-favourite at +500.

Brooks Koepka

We haven’t heard much of Brooks Koepka this year. That is what happens when you are on the LIV Tour. But you cannot ignore the fact Koepka has won three PGA Championships in the past. They came in 2018 in St. Louis, in 2019 at Bethpage Black, and in 2023 in Oak Hill. As a result, his betting line is +2000, not bad for a guy ranked 354th!
