The Los Angeles Dodgers are 2025 World Series champions. On Saturday, the Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in game seven of the 2025 World Series from the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. With the win, the Dodgers won the best out of seven series four games to three and have successfully defended their title as World Series champions. The Dodgers beat the New York Yankees in five games last year.

In the seventh game, we once again saw Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound. This time in a relief role, as he was the starting pitcher in game six. The World Series MVP won his third game in the series. He threw two and two thirds scoreless innings after throwing six innings just the night before.

The home run in key situations was the major reason why the Dodgers were victorious. With the Blue Jays leading 4-2 in the eighth inning, Max Muncy hit a solo shot to pull within one. Then in the ninth inning, Miguel Rojas tied the game at four. Then in the top of the 11th inning, Dodgers catcher Will Smith hit a solo shot to score the World Series winning run.

The Rojas home run was quite dramatic. It came with the Blue Jays only two outs away from winning their first World Series since 1993. The fact Rojas hit the solo dinger was equally unexpected when you consider the fact he hit only one home run all season long against a right handed pitcher, and only had one hit in nine previous World Series at bats over the last eight days.
