Brian Harman of St. Simons Island, Georgia has won his fourth PGA tournament. On Sunday in San Antonio, Texas, Harman won the 2025 Valero Texas Open.

Harman posted a four round score of -9. He got off to a fantastic start to the tournament as he had back-to-back scores of three-under-par 69 on Thursday and Friday. Harman then had a third round score of par and a fourth round score of three-over-par 75.

The fact that Harman won the tournament was noteworthy when you consider the fact how much he struggled in the fourth round on Sunday. He had four bogeys and one double bogey in 18 holes.

There was only one other golfer in contention. That was Ryan Gerard of Raleigh, North Carolina, who shot a four round score of -6.

Harman’s first PGA title was the 2014 John Deere Classic. That was followed by the 2017 Wells  Fargo Championship and the 2023 British Open. There is a strong similarity between the John Deere Classic and the Valero Texas Open. That is because they both happen the week before a major. The John Deere Classic is right before the British Open, and the Valero Texas Open right now is a week before the Masters.

With the win, Harman is now 22nd in the Official World Golf Rankings. He climbed 27 spots in the Official World Golf Rankings as last week he was 49th.

Normally, a golfer heading into a major who won the week before needs to be considered in golf pools. Be cautious here because of Harman’s average play in San Antonio on Saturday, and poor play on Sunday.
