Ben Griffin of Chapel Hill, North Carolina has won the 2025 Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial Club in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday. Griffin shot a four round score of -12, and beat Germany’s Matthias Schmid by a stroke.

Griffin had a first round score of four-under-par 66, a second round score of seven-under-par 63, a third round score of two-under-par 68, and a fourth round score of one-under-par 73.

Despite being over par on Sunday, Griffin actually began with an eagle on the first hole. There he had a tee shot that went 357 yards, and an approach shot that went 228 yards. Griffin’s eagle putt was 14 feet and nine inches.

There was one other golfer in contention. Bud Cauley of Daytona Beach, Florida was alone in third place at -9.

This was the second PGA tournament that Griffin has won in 2025. He teamed up with Andrew Novak of Raleigh, North Carolina to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April. This is the only team event on the PGA Tour.

Griffin is one of four golfers this season to be over par in the final round and still be victorious. He is joined by Harris English of Valdosta, Georgia, who had a fourth round score of +1 in winning the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, California with a final score of -8, Brian Harman of Savannah, Georgia, who had a fourth round score of +3 in winning the Valero Texas Open with a final score of -9, and Rory McIlroy of Holywood, Northern Ireland, who had a fourth round score of +1 before winning the Masters in a playoff.
