Xander Schauffele wins 2025 Baycurrent Classic

American Xander Schauffele of San Diego, California has had great success in Asia. On Sunday, Schauffele won on the PGA Tour for the 10th time in his career, as he won the 2025 Baycurrent Classic at the Yokohama Country Club in Japan. This is the third time Schauffele has won in Asia. He previously won the 2018 World Golf Championship HSBC Champions event in Shanghai, China and the gold medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.
Schauffele posted a four round score of -19. Max Greyserman of Short Hills, New Jersey was one stroke back at -18 and in second place. Michael Thorbjornsen of Cleveland, Ohio was in this place at -16 and three strokes back of Schauffele.

In the first round, Schauffele had a score of even par 71. He had three birdies and three bogeys. In the second round, Schauffele had a score of eight under par 63. He had eight birdies and zero bogeys. Five of the eight birdies came on the front nine. In the third round, Schauffele had a score of four-under-par 67. Once again Schauffele was strong on the front nine. There he had four birdies and zero bogeys. Then in the fourth round, Schauffele had eight birdies and one bogey for a score of seven-under-par.
With the win, Schauffele returns to number three in the world. He 6.719 average points and passes Russell Henley of Macon, Georgia, who has 5.9291 average points. Scottie Scheffler of the United States is still first in the world, and Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland is second in the world.
