Caroline Wozniacki of Odense, Denmark is returning to tennis after a three-year layoff and initial retirement. Since she last played at the 2020 Australian Open, Wozniacki gave birth to two children, Olivia in 2021, and James in 2022. We have also seen Wozniacki as a regular analyst on Tennis Channel.

During her first 15 years as a professional tennis player, Wozniacki was one of the most consistent players on the court. Her finest achievement was winning the 2018 Australian Open final, where she beat Simona Halep of Romania in the final, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

Wozniacki was also the 20th player and first Danish player to be ranked first in the world. She accomplished that feat the first time from October 11, 2010 to February 13, 2011, and returned to number one for 49 more straight weeks from February 21, 2011 to January 29, 2012, and four more weeks from January 29, 2018 to February 25, 2018. The third time Wozniacki reached number one in the world is after she won her first major. In all, she was ranked first in the world for 71 weeks, which is 10th all-time and the most number of weeks among active players.

In all, Wozniacki has won 30 WTA events. Her most recent title was the 2018 China Open where she beat Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia in the final, 6-3, 6-3.

Wozniacki is the second high profile women’s tennis player to return to the court after becoming a mother in 2023. She follows Elina Svitolina of Ukraine, the 2019 Wimbledon and United States Open semifinalist. Svitolina has received a wildcard for Wimbledon next week.

Over the years, Wozniacki has been in two high profile relationships. First was with golf superstar Rory McIlroy from 2011 to 2014, and since 2017 with former NBA center David Lee. In 2019, Wozniacki and Lee married.
