Wizards upset the Bucks 114-113 in the biggest upset of the 2025-26 NBA season

The Washington Wizards delivered the biggest upset of there 2025-26 National Basketball Association season on Wednesday. The Wizards were a 15 point underdog against the Milwaukee Bucks but came through with a 114-113 victory. The previous biggest upset came on November 21 as the Brooklyn Nets beat the Boston Celtics 113-105 as a 14 point underdog.

A significant Wizards upset is becoming commonplace for the Wizards this season. Of the eight Wizards victories, five have come as a double digit underdog. This is the second time the Wizards beat the Bucks as a double digit underdog this season. On December 1, they beat the Bucks 129-126 as a 10 point underdog.

In Wednesday’s win, the Wizards improved to 8-24, while the Bucks fell to 14-20. This was only the fourth road win the Wizards have had all year.

Six Wizards players reached double digits in points. Point guard Bub Carrington of Baltimore, Maryland and center Alex Sarr of Bordeaux, France (the second overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft) had 20 points each. Sarr had a double-double as he had 11 rebounds. Shooting guard CJ McCollum of Canton, Ohio had 18 points, shooting guard Tre Johnson of Dallas, Texas had 14 points, small forward Justin Champagnie of Brooklyn, New York had 12 points, and shooting guard Bilal Coulibaly of Saint-Cloud, France had 10 points.

The Wizards were down 113-110 with 30 seconds left. That is when McCollum made a layup to pull the Wizards within one. Then McCollum won the game with a 16-foot layup with one second left. Also in the last 30 seconds, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo missed two field goal attempts.
