It is once again an amazing time to be a Boston sports fan. The Boston Bruins lead the Atlantic Division by three points over the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League. The New England Patriots are tied with the San Francisco 49ers with a record of eight wins and one loss for the best record in the National Football League. The Boston Celtics currently lead the National Basketball Association with a record of eight wins and one loss.

So far the only loss for the Celtics in 2019-20 was in their opening game–a 107-93 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers. Since then they have put together an eight-game winning streak.

The Celtics’ most impressive victories were two road wins. The first was a 118-95 win at Madison Square Garden in New York against the Knicks on October 26 and the second was a convincing 20 point win in San Antonio on November 9 as the Celtics scored a season-high 135 points in a 135-115 win over the Spurs.

Boston currently has the best points for and against average differential in the NBA. They are at +9.4 as they average 113.4 points per game and are giving up an average of 104 points per game.

The Celtics leading scorer at the moment is Kemba Walker, who is averaging 25 points per game. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have also been excellent for Boston to start the year as they are averaging 19.8 and 19.4 points per game respectively.

However with many teams in the NBA, they are having to deal with an injury or injuries to key players, and the Celtics are no exception. Small forward Gordon Hayward, who is averaging 18.9 points per game, broke his hand on Saturday against the Spurs and is out for the next six weeks.
