In this segment, we bring you a look at the biggest sporting moments of the past weekend.
This weekend saw tennis and cricket action as well as multiple upsets.
Aus Open
The Australian Open dished up thrilling tennis action over the weekend.
On Saturday night, Naomi Osaka overcame Petra Kvitova in the women’s singles final.
With the match at a set each, the 21 year old from Japan won the third, 6-4, to claim the silverware.
In the men’s singles final, Novak Djokovic crushed Rafael Nadal in straight sets.
It’s the seventh Aus Open title for Djokovic, surpassing Roger Federer and Roy Emerson who both have six Australian Opens each.
Sam Stosur and Zhang Shuai won the women’s doubles on Friday, with Barbora Krejcikova and Rajeev Ram winning the mixed doubles on Saturday.
On Sunday, French duo Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herberts took out the men’s doubles.

Heat Win WBBL
The Brisbane Heat produced a memorable upset in the Women’s Big Bash League final on Saturday.
Toppling the favoured Sydney Sixers, the Heat became the first team outside of Sydney to win the women’s comp.
The Sixers batted first and finished with 7-137.
Eleyse Perry, who was averaging 93 coming into the match, was subdued, only scoring 33 before being caught by wicketkeeper Beth Mooney.
A valiant Mooney was the hero on the day for Brisbane.
With the bat, she made 65 off 46 balls, to help the Heat to 7-137, while also becoming the player of the match.
To add to the drama, the winning moment of the match came when Erin Burns and Sara McGlashan collided on the rope, with the ball comically going between the two, resulting in a four for Laura Harris.

Australia Beat Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka crumbled over the weekend in the first of two tests against Australia.
With the visitors only scoring 144 in the first innings, Australia made a reasonable 323.
Sri Lanka similarly struggled in their second innings, finishing 9-139, with Lahiru Kumara unable to bat due to injury.
With Sri Lanka failing to surpass Australia’s score, the Aussies won by 40 runs and an innings.
Travis Head and Marnus Labaschagne were best with the bat, scoring 84 and 81, respectively.
Test debutant Jhye Richardson was most impressive in the bowling, taking five wickets in both innings.

Shock Losses for EPL Teams
There were multiple upsets in the weekend’s FA Cup fixtures.
Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-0 by Crystal Palace.
Palace sit in just 14th spot in the Premier League, while Tottenham are in third.
Meanwhile, League One side AFC Wimbledon embarrassed West Ham 4-2.
Championship club Millwall also overcame Everton 3-2.
In other results, Chelsea knocked out Sheffield Wednesday 3-0, and Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1.
