Washington Football Team sign offensive lineman Charles Leno Jr.

According to John Keim of ESPN on Wednesday, the Washington Football Team has signed left tackle Charles Leno Jr. of Oakland, California to a one-year contract worth $5 million. Leno Jr. had spent the last seven seasons with the Chicago Bears.
In 2020, Leno Jr. had his first career fumble recovery. It came in the Bears’ opening game of the season, a 27-23 Bears win over the Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
By signing with Washington, Leno Jr. remains in the National Football Conference, but no longer in the NFC North. At this time one could argue that the NFC East is easier than the NFC North, however that could change if the Green Bay Packers decide to trade their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who appears disgruntled with the franchise at the moment.
At 6′ 3″, 307 pounds, Leno Jr. is two inches taller and three pounds lighter than Antwaun Woods of Los Angeles, California, who at 6′ 1″, 310 pounds, was the most significant National Football League signing on Tuesday. At 29 years of age, Leno Jr. still has a few more years left in him, and for the most part, has been able to stay injury-free while in the NFL until now. He has been able to play in all 16 Bears games at left tackle for the last six seasons, and has not had an injury in his NFL career to date.

In 2018, Leno Jr. was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first and only time in his career. He was one of two Bears offensive linemen selected to the Pro Bowl that year. He was joined by center Cody Whitehair of Kearney, Nebraska.
Leno played his college football at Boise State. He was the seventh-round pick, 246th overall by the Bears in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Leno is one of two offensive linemen who have become millionaires this week. The Indianapolis Colts signed offensive tackle Eric Fisher of Rochester, Michigan from the Kansas City Chiefs to a one-year deal worth $9.4 million on Monday.
