Warriors dominate Lakers on opening night of 2022-23 NBA regular season

We all know the Golden State Warriors faced some inner turmoil during training camp, as Draymond Green and Jordan Poole were involved in a high-profile altercation. However on Tuesday night in San Francisco, the Warriors put aside their differences and united on the court, with a dominant 123-109 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Four Warriors reached double digits in scoring. Stephen Curry led the way with 33 points. Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins had 20 points, Klay Thompson had 18 points and Poole had 12 points.

Curry had four more three-pointers on Tuesday, to increase his NBA record for most three-pointers all-time to 3121. Ray Allen is second on the list with 2973. Curry’s four three-pointers came on 13 three-point attempts. The most significant Curry shot from downtown was with five minutes and 27 seconds left in the third quarter, when he made a 24-foot shot, and put the Warriors up 84-64 at the time. It would not take Curry long to make another three-pointer as he made a 28-foot shot with four minutes and 51 seconds left in the third quarter to put the Warriors up 87-64.

However, Curry did not have the most three-pointers on Tuesday night. James Harden had five three-pointers in a 126-117 Philadelphia loss to the Boston Celtics in the game that opened the 2022-23 National Basketball Association regular season. Where Curry was perfect was from the free throw line, as he made all nine of his free throw attempts.

The most dominant quarter for the Warriors in their opening game was the third stanza. There they outscored the Lakers 32-19.
