The Golden State Warriors are two wins away from reaching the 2022 NBA Finals. On Friday night in San Francisco, the Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks 126-117 in game two of the best out of seven series to take a 2-0 series lead. The win came after Golden State won game one of the series 112-87 on Wednesday.

Golden State was led offensively by Stephen Curry, who had 32 points. In fact, six Warriors reached double digits in scoring as Jordan Poole had 23 points off the bench, Kevon Looney had 21 points, Andrew Wiggins had 16 points, Klay Thompson had 15 points, and Otto Porter Jr. hd 11 points. Just like Poole, Porter Jr. provided his offensive production not in a starting role. Looney meanwhile added a double-double as he had 12 rebounds.

What was most impressive about the Warriors win in game two however was their comeback. Dallas had a 53-34 lead at the 4:51 mark of the second quarter before the Warriors outscored the Mavericks 92-64 the rest of the way.

One must realize the Warriors have the firepower and depth to score at will at any point of a basketball game. That is one reason why they are so dangerous as a unit, and so exciting to watch. One statistic that might have been a little bit surprising from game two is the fact that the Mavericks outscored the Warriors 63-42 from three-point range. Golden State will try to tighten things up defensively from beyond the arc.

Golden State has reached the NBA Finals five times over the last decade. That includes NBA titles in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
