Heading into Tuesday’s game, you might have wondered why the 38-13 Golden State Warriors were a 6.5 point underdog to the 19-32 San Antonio Spurs. Well, the primary reason had to do with injuries. The Warriors were without Stephen Curry (toe), Andrew Wiggins (knee), Draymond Green (back), Klay Thompson (rest), Otto Porter Jr. (foot), Andre Iguodala (hip), Nemanja Bjelica (back), and James Wiseman (meniscus), yet some how and some way, beat the San Antonio Spurs 124-120.

In a second game of a back-to-back, the Warriors relied on a starting five that included Damion Lee, Moses Moody, Jordan Poole, Kevon Looney and Juan Toscano-Anderson. This group is currently sixth, 15th, third, 11th, and 12th respectively in Warriors scoring this season.

Poole led the Warriors with 31 points. Looney had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Three other Warriors reached double digits in scoring as Moody had 20 points, rookie Jonathan Kuminga had 19 points off the bench, and Looney had 12 points.

In the process the Warriors became only the second team in NBA history to enter the fourth quarter down by 15, and come back and win without their top two leading scorers according to ESPN. Curry is the Warriors leading scorer with 26 points, while Wiggins is second with 18.3 points.

Heading into the final 12 minutes, the Warriors were trailing the Spurs 104-89. However, in the fourth quarter, the Warriors outscored the Spurs 35-16. Another member of the Warriors who deserves a lot of credit for the win was head coach Steve Kerr, who is the new head coach of the United States Olympic team. He simply did a lot with a little, and in the process beat one of the best coaches of all-time in Gregg Popovich.
