The Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks were both facing elimination on Wednesday, and both came away with victories. The Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 121-106, and the Knicks beat the Miami Heat 112-103. With the game five wins, the Warriors and Knicks still trail the Lakers and the Heat respectively in their best out of seven series three games to two.

At Madison Square Garden, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau of New Britain, Connecticut played guards Jalen Brunson of New Brunswick, New Jersey and Quentin Grimes of Houston, Texas the full 48 minutes. Brunson had 38 points and Grimes had eight points. Two more Knicks reached double digits in scoring as forwards RJ Barrett of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Julius Randle of Dallas, Texas had 26 and 24 points respectively. Meanwhile, center Mitchell Robinson of Pensacola, Florida led the Knicks with 11 boards.

Then in San Francisco, six Warriors reached double digits in scoring. Stephen Curry of Akron, Ohio had 27 points, Andrew Wiggins of Toronto had 25 points, Draymond Green of Saginaw, Michigan had 20 points, Gary Payton II of Seattle, Washington had 13 points,  Jordan Poole of Milwaukee, Wisconsin had 11 points, and Klay Thompson of Los Angeles, California had 10 points. Green was the only Warriors player with a double double as he had 10 rebounds.

Game six of the Knicks and Heat series will be Friday in Miami. Los Angeles meanwhile will be the home locale of the Warriors and Lakers series. On Thursday, the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets can eliminate the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns respectively with game six wins.
