Vince Carter Becomes Fifth Player In NBA History To Play In 1500 Regular Season Games

Vince Carter of Dayton Beach, Florida became the fifth player ever to play in 1500 National Basketball Association regular-season games in a career on Tuesday. According to USA Today,Carter joins a list that includes NBA greats John Stockton (1504 games), Robert Parish (1611 games), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1560 games) and Dirk Nowitzki (1522 games).
Carter achieved the milestone in a 135-121 Atlanta loss to the Miami Heat at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. In 26 minutes, Carter had 12 points, four assists and three rebounds. All 12 of his points came from four three-pointers. Carter also had two turnovers, two personal fouls and was a -15.

In Carter’s career he has played 403 games with the Toronto Raptors, 374 games with the New Jersey Nets, 223 games with the Dallas Mavericks, 199 games with the Memphis Grizzlies, 97 games with the Orlando Magic, 95 games with the Atlanta Hawks, 58 games with the Sacramento Kings and 51 games with the Phoenix Suns. Carter plans to retire at the end of the 2019-20 NBA regular season. He is currently at 42 years old.
While playing small forward, Carter is averaging 5.9 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game and 0.9 assists per game in 2019-20. He also has a .375 field goal shooting percentage, .750 free throw percentage and a .286 percentage in three-point attempts this season.
From a point perspective, Carter had a season-high 17 points on December 8. He helped the Hawks beat the Charlotte Hornets 122-107 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Hawks dropped to a record of six wins and 18 losses due to the defeat to Miami. The Heat improved to 18-6. Carter is set to play his 1501st game Wednesday in Chicago against the Bulls.
