Viktor Hovland of Oslo, Norway has won the 2025 Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Florida. On Sunday, Hovland posted a four round score of -11 and beat two-time PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas of Louisville, Kentucky by one stroke.

Hovland began the tournament with a first round score of one-under-par 70. That was followed by a second round score of four-under-par 67, a third round score of two-under-par 69, and a fourth round score of four-under-par 67.

Four more golfers were in contention during the tournament. All alone in third place and two strokes back at -9 was Jacob Bridgeman of Inman, South Carolina. Meanwhile, in fourth place and three strokes back at -8 were Ryo Hisatsune of Okayama, Japan, Bud Cauley of Daytona Beach, Florida and Billy Horschel of Grant, Florida.

This is the second time in a month that Bridgeman has had a top three finish in the month of March in the state of Florida. He finished tied for second place with J.J. Spaun and two strokes back of eventual champion Joe Highsmith of Lakewood, Washington at the 2025 Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens on March 2.

The Valspar Championship was the seventh PGA title of Hovland’s career. He previously won the 2020 Puerto Rico Open, the 2020 and 2021 PGA Tour stop in Mexico (2020 known as the Mayakoba Golf Classic and in 2021 known as the World Wide Technology Championship), the 2023 Memorial Tournament, the 2023 BMW Championship and the 2023 Tour Championship.

Hovland is the fifth European golfer to win on the PGA Tour this season. He follows Sepp Straka of Vienna, Austria (The American Express), Rory McIlroy of Holywood, Northern Ireland (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am and Players Championship), Thomas Detry of Uccle, Belgium (WM Phoenix Open), and Ludvig Aberg of Eslov, Sweden (Genesis Invitational).
