US Open Update – Djokovic Progresses To 11th Consecutive US Semi

Novak Djokovic has defeated Australian up-and-comer John Millman 6-3 6-4 6-4 to cruise into his 11th consecutive US Open semi-final but not without heaping huge praise on his opponent who had defeated Roger Federer in the round of 16.
“He’s had an amazing tournament. He won his first quarter-final against Roger (Federer) a couple of nights ago, Djokovic said.
“To come out after that win and to fight for three hours, he deserves a round of applause, definitely”.
In other matches, Kei Nishikori defeated Marin Cilic in a 5 set epic; 2-6 6-4 7-6 4-6 6-4.
Whilst Rafael Nadal proved too strong Dominic Thiem in yet another marathon match for for
Spaniard; 0-6 6-4 7-5 6-7 7-6.
The match went for 4 hours and 49 minutes which saw Nadal claimed a memorable win after 3 of the 5 sets went to tie-breaks.
He’ll face Juan Del Potro in the semi-final after the big-hitting Argentine defeated John Isner
6-7 6-3 7-6 6-2 on the American’s home court.
