UFC Fight Night Preview: Kattar Vs Ige

After a huge UFC 251 pay-per-view event, we move on to a rare midweek Fight Night card on Fight Island where Kattar & Ige face off in the main card which is sure to be a thriller.

Kattar Vs Ige

The main event should be a barn-burner with two up-and-comers in the stacked Featherweight division, with Boston’s Calvin Kattar taking on Hawaii’s Dan Ige.

Ige finds himself on the end of an impressive 6 fight win streak, his latest win against Edson Barbosa being the most notable. 4 of his last 5 wins have been left in the hands-on the judges.

Calvin Kattar is the real deal and he proved that with a vicious knockout of Jeremy Stephens only 2 months ago. However, it is a recent loss against Zabit Magomedsharipov, which may be the best form of reference on his record. His Russian opponent currently finds himself in title contention and there’s no doubt that Kattar looked much stronger at the end of that 3 round bout.

Whilst Ige may hold the advantage if the fight does reach the ground, expect Kattar’s striking to be far too strong. His straight right hand is like a piston and that’s where he’ll get it done here.

Tip: Kattar to win via KO or TKO @$2-  3 units

Stamann Vs Rivera

The other fight we will look to make a profit from comes earlier on the main card also in the Featherweight division. Cody Stamann and Jimmie Rivera both bring impressive records to the island.

Stamann is coming off a decision win against journeyman Brian Kelleher. He has been struggling to secure a finish with 5 of his most recent wins all being by decision.

Despite coming off 2 losses, when looking closer, Rivera’s form lines look to be much stronger. In June he went the distance with the man who secured the Featherweight title this last weekend, Petr Yan. Before that he also went the distance with the man who expected to be booked for the next title shot in Aljamain Sterling.

Both these men opened at $1.95 last week but the punters have come for Rivera and he is in to $1.85 and he looks a good bet!

Tip: Rivera to win @$1.85-  2 units
