TRAINERS WARY ON BALLARAT RAIN

TRAINERS are on weather watch for the Ballarat Cup with key chances likely to be scratched if the predicted heavy rain eventuates.
Sam Freedman, the co-trainer of Ain’tnodeeldun said he wouldn’t hesitate in scratching him if there was a wet track.
Similarly, Trent Busuttin said they could look at doing the same with Foxy Cleopatra if the rain came.

Busuttin said Foxy Cleopatra, who has had two seconds from two starts this campaign was looking for the 2000 metres and the spacious Ballarat track would suit.
Foxy Cleopatra finished a first-up second to Skew Wiff over 1400 metres at Flemington after having had a year off.

Then second-up she finished in that position behind Charterhouse in the Cranbourne Cup over 1600 metres.
Horsham trainer Paul Preusker believes his stayer Captain Envious is ready to win his first big race as he is fit and in good form.

Preusker told Racing.Com he had decided to skirt around the edges with Captain Envious this spring and try and collect some nice prizemoney along the way.
Captain Envious, who finished an unlucky third in the Country Cup final, is a $5 favourite with PlayUp.
