Trae Young of Lubbock, Texas became the fourth youngest player in National Basketball Association history to score 50 points in a single game on Thursday according to ESPN. Young achieved the feat in a 129-124 Atlanta Hawks win over the Miami Heat from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the five point Hawks win, Young scored 50 points, and successfully shot 12 of 25 field goals, eight of 15 three-point attempts and 18 of 19 free throws. Young also had eight assists, two steals, one block, two rebounds and was a +10.

Five other Hawks reached double digits in scoring. De’Andre Hunter of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Kevin Huerter of Albany, New York had 17 points each. Cam Reddish of Norristown, Pennsylvania had 16 points, while John Collins of Layton, Utah and Jeff Teague of Indianapolis, Indiana had 12 points each.

Young was only 21 years old and 154 days when he scored 50 points on Thursday. The only players younger that Young to score 50 in a game are LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns and Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Brandon Jennings was only 20 years and 52 days old, and playing in only his seventh NBA game, when he had 55 points for the Bucks in a 129-125 win over the Golden State Warriors on November 14, 2009. James was only 20 years and 80 days old when he had 56 points in a 105-98 Cleveland Cavaliers loss to the Toronto Raptors on March 20, 2005. James was then just 20 days shy of his 21st birthday when he scored 52 points in a 111-106 Cavaliers loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on December 10, 2005. James also had 51 points in a 108-90 Cavaliers win over the Utah Jazz at the age of 21 years and 23 days on January 21, 2006. Finally, Booker was 20 years old and 145 days when he had that magical 70 point game for the Phoenix Suns in the 130-120 loss to the Boston Celtics on March 24, 2017.
