The sixth week is now in the books in the National Football League. Here are five headlines from the week that was.

5) Baltimore Ravens win a battle of division leaders.

On Sunday we saw a battle of two teams at four wins and one loss, as the AFC North leading Baltimore Ravens hosted the AFC West leading Los Angeles Chargers. This game however was no contest as the Ravens dominated from start to end in a dominant 34-6 win. Baltimore was led defensively by safety DeShon Elliott of Dallas, Texas. Elliott had three tackles, one sack, one tackle for a loss, and one interception. The Chargers rushing game was non-existent as they only had 26 total yards.

4) Arizona Cardinals improve to 6-0.

The Arizona Cardinals remain the last team undefeated in the NFL regular season. On Sunday, Arizona thumped Cleveland 37-14 to improve to six wins and zero losses. It was a stellar performance from Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray who completed 20 of 30 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Next up for the Cards? A weekend date against the lowly Houston Texans. Arizona is currently a 16.5 point favourite!

3) Titans defensive stand.

With 22 seconds left in the fourth quarter on Monday, the Tennessee Titans were leading the Buffalo Bills 34-31. Instead of going for the field goal to tie the game, the Bills gambled on fourth and one with the football on the Tennessee three yard line. That is when Titans defensive end Jeffery Simmons of La Salle Parish, Louisiana stopped Bills quarterback Josh Allen from getting the necessary yard to give the Titans a win and improve to 4-2 and lead the AFC South.

2) Jaguars win first game since their opener of the 2020 NFL season.

In the NFL game from London, England on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars won the battle of Florida by beating the Miami Dolphins 23-20. With the game tied, Jaguars kicker Matthew Wright of Lancaster, Pennsylvania kicked a game-winning 53 yarder. The Jaguars snapped a 21-game losing steak. Their last win was on September 13, 2020, when they beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-20.

1) Trevon Diggs makes NFL history.

In Dallas’s 35-29 overtime win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs of Gaithersburg, Maryland recorded his seventh interception of the 2021 season. Diggs is now tied with Rod Woodson for the most interceptions after the first six games of the regular season. Woodson of Fort Wayne, Indiana had seven picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1993 NFL season. Diggs’ interception on Sunday was a pick six, which put the Cowboys up 26-21 with two minutes and 27 seconds left in the fourth quarter. With the win, Dallas improves to 5-1. After the fourth week of the season, Diggs became the first Cowboys player in franchise history with five interceptions.
