The National Football League is 11 weeks complete. Here are the top five rookies from week 11 on winning teams. This year we are including kickers. What we saw this past weekend was the progression of the Denver Broncos as three of their rookies cracked the top five list.

5) DeVaughn Vele

The Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver from Indianapolis, Indiana had four catches for 66 yards in a 38-6 Broncos romp over the Atlanta Falcons. You had to go down very far on the 2024 NFL Draft list to see Vele’s name. He was selected in the seventh round, 235th overall out of the University of Utah.

4) Troy Franklin

The second Broncos player on the list also made a key contribution on Sunday. The wide receiver from East Palo Alto, California had two catches for 15 receiving yards and one touchdown. The major score for the product of the University of Oregon was for seven yards and generated the only points in the third quarter. At the time the fourth round pick, 102nd overall, Franklin’s touchdown put the Broncos up 28-6.

3) Ladd McConkey

The native of Chatsworth, Georgia is the top wide receiver of three on our list this week. All receivers are from the AFC West. On Sunday night, Ladd McConkey of Chatsworth, Georgia had six catches for 123 receiving yards in a 34-27 Chargers shootout win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

2) Jake Bates

The Detroit Lions had remarkable offense on Sunday. They scored 52 points and their rookie kicker Jake Bates of Tomball, Texas contributed to 10 of the Lions points. He made seven converts and made a 54 yard field goal to close out the scoring in the 46 point (52-6) romp over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

1) Bo Nix

There is no doubt the Broncos have moved on from Russell Wilson. On Sunday, Bo Nix, the Broncos’s first round pick, 12th overall, was sensational in the 32 point Denver clobbering over the Atlanta Falcons. He completed 28 of 33 passes for 307 passing yards and four touchdown passes, and had two rushes for five rushing yards.
