Top five NFL storylines from week two of 2020 NFL regular season

Week two is now in the books. There was some very exciting action throughout the entire National Football League. Here are five headlines.

5) Indianapolis Colts defense comes up big. One of the most phenomenal statistics on the weekend is the fact that the Minnesota Vikings were limited to 11 points. Kirk Cousins was intercepted thrice and only had 113 passing yards, and Dalvin Cook only had 63 rushing yards. Despite the fact the Vikings were considered to be NFC North Division title contenders, Minnesota has not looked good at all to start the season after losses to Green Bay and Indianapolis.

4) Harrison Butker kicks two 58 yard field goals. Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker of Decatur, Georgia tied the Chiefs record for the longest field goal in franchise history, not just once, but twice. The second time came in overtime in the Chiefs 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

3) Seahawks beat the Patriots 35-30 in week 2 classic. The Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots continue to have phenomenal games against each other that come down to the wire. Sunday was no different. In Seattle’s five point win over New England, Patriots quarterback Cam Newton was stopped at the goal line on the final play of the game. The Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals have each won their first two games of the season in a very competitive NFC West.

2) Cowboys have stunning comeback against the Falcons. In this contest, the Dallas Cowboys were once down 20 points after the first quarter. However just like the Super Bowl in 2017, the Falcons simply choked. This time, the Falcons blew a 39-24 lead with five minutes left, only to lose 40-39. The Falcons completely misplayed an onside kick, and allowed Dallas to recover the pigskin. Atlanta also becomes the first team in NFL history to not commit a turnover, score 39 points or more, and lose.

1)Two NFL superstars out for the season with a torn ACL. New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa saw their 2020 seasons end prematurely after each suffering torn ACLs. Barkley and Bosa are considered elite players at their positions, and the loss is significant. Barkley’s injury will hurt fantasy football owners, and Bosa’s injury will hurt the 49ers, who had Super Bowl aspirations.
