5 months ago - Sportingbase
The third week of the 2025 National Football League regular season is now finished. Here are the top five headlines.
5) Six teams at 3-0.
There are six teams undefeated after three weeks. They are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Chargers, and Indianapolis Colts. What we saw from the Eagles was an exceptional comeback. They were once down 26-7 to the Los Angeles Rams early in the third quarter before they scored 26 unanswered points en route to a 33-26 win. The comeback was headlined by a Jordan Davis blocked field goal return for a touchdown on the final play of the game, as the Rams were trying to win.
4) Browns upset the Packers.
Cleveland beat Green Bay by a score of 10-3 as a 7.5 point underdog, Green Bay looked great in their first two games against the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders, but looked terrible on Sunday offensively. The Browns defensive line deserved high praise for limiting Josh Jacobs to 30 yards rushing.

3) Panthers clobber the Falcons.
Carolina was a 5.5 underdog against Atlanta but beat the Falcons 30-0 in their most dominant win in a decade (since beating Atlanta 38-0 in 2015). It was a strong game for Panthers rookie kicker Ryan Fitzgerald of Coolidge, Georgia, as he made three field goals and three converts.

1) Nine defensive/special teams touchdowns.
There were nine defensive/special teams touchdowns in week three. Two of them came from the same player. Minnesota Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rodgers of Tampa, Florida had a 87 yard interception return for a touchdown and 66 yard fumble return for a touchdown in a 48-10 Vikings onslaught over the Cincinnati Bengals.
