We are now 14 weeks into the National Football League season. Here are the top five headlines from the week that was.
5) Browns confident with Shedeur Saunders at quarterback.
The Cleveland Browns are planning to go with Shedeur Sanders of Tyler, Texas at quarterback for the rest of the season. The player best known as Deion’s son, is the third starting quarterback for the Browns this season following Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel. Saunders has beaten the Las Vegas Raiders as a starter, and was very impressive this past weekend against the Tennessee Titans.
4) Texans defense spectacular against the Chiefs.
In one of the best collective performances on the weekend came from the Houston defense. The Texans forced three Patrick Mahomes’s interceptions and 19 incompletions in a 20-10 Houston win. The Texans defenders with interceptions on Sunday night were cornerback Kamari Lassiter of Savannah, Georgia, safety Jalen Pitre of Stafford, Texas, and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair of Tampa, Florida. With the win, the Texans improved to a record of eight wins and five losses and are in second place in the AFC South.
3) Broncos have won 10 straight.
The Denver Broncos have joined the New England Patriots at 11 wins and two losses and the best record in the NFL. Like the Patriots, the Broncos have won 10 straight games. On Sunday, Denver prevented the Raiders from scoring a single point in the middle two quarters in a 24-17 win.

2) Colts are ice cold.
All of a sudden Indianapolis is ice cold. They have lost three straight games and are no longer leading the AFC South. On Sunday, they were beaten 36-19 by the Jacjksonville Jaguars.

1) Josh Allen breaks his own franchise record.
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen of Firebaugh, California broke his own franchise record for the longest rushing touchdown in franchise history by a quarterback. He had a 40-yard run for a major score in a 39-34 Bills win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the snow.
