Top five headlines from Week 11 of the 2023 NFL season

The 11th week of the 2023 National Football League season finished on Monday. Here are the top five headlines.

5) Trevor Lawrence rebounds.

After a horrible week 10 where he did not generate anything offensively for the Jacksonville Jaguars against San Francisco, Trevor Lawrence was magnificent on Sunday. He generated four touchdowns (two in the air and two on the ground) and had 262 passing yards in a 34-14 Jaguars win over the Tennessee Titans. Jacksonville leads the AFC South at seven wins and three losses.

4) Cold showers in Washington.

The New York Giants beat the Washington Commanders 31-19 in the nation’s capital on Sunday thanks to a great performance by Giants rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito of Livingston, New Jersey. However, one of the biggest stories from the game was afterwards. According to Rogers Sportsnet, there was an equipment failure at FedEx Field and there was no hot water available in either dressing room! These multi-millionaires could only have a cold shower!

3) Injuries major story in Thursday prime time contest.

The Baltimore Ravens improved to a record of eight wins and three losses thanks to a 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The major story in this one were injuries. Done for the season are Ravens tight end Mark Andrews and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

2) Eagles win rematch of the Super Bowl.

In a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers 21-17. The story in this game was the Eagles defense, which prevented the reigning Super Bowl champs from scoring a single point in the entire second half. Philadelphia improved to 9-1 with the win.

1) Steelers fire offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

Earlier this season during a Pittsburgh Penguins game against the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League, the fans bellowed “fire Canada.” I was a little confused. Hockey is huge in Canada and why were the Penguins fans showing so much hate towards Canada’s number one sport? Then after a few seconds of research, I found the chant had nothing to do about the American neighbour from the north. The Penguins fans were showing disgust to the Steelers’s lack of offence in the NFL. On Tuesday, Steelers fans finally got their wish. After another offensively inept contest on Sunday where Pittsburgh only scored 10 points in a 13-10 loss to Cleveland, the Steelers fired offensive co-ordinator Matt Canada.
