Titans linebacker Harold Landry out for season with torn ACL

According to Mike Moraitis of USA Today on Monday, Tennessee Titans right outside linebacker Harold Landry III of Spring Lake, North Carolina is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He suffered the injury in practice on Wednesday.

Landry III was expected to be the leader on the Titans defense in 2022. Last season, Landry III had 75 combined tackles (51 solo tackles and 24 assisted tackles), 14 tackles for a loss, 22 quarterback hits, 12 sacks and one forced fumble.

Also this past season, Landry III was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. Landry III’s forced fumble came in a 34-31 Titans win over the Indianapolis Colts on Halloween.

In his career, Landry III has played four NFL seasons with the Titans and 52 games. He has 256 combined tackles (164 solo tackles and 92 assisted tackles), 41 tackles for a loss, 66 quarterback hits, 31 sacks, two interceptions, eight pass deflections, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.

The Titans also named wide receiver Josh Gordon of Houston, Texas to the practice squad. Gordon has a controversial past as he missed two seasons in 2015 and 2016 for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. In 2013 with the Cleveland Browns, Gordon was selected to the Pro Bowl, led the NFL in receiving yards (1646) and receiving yards per game (117.6). In 2021 with the Kansas City Chiefs, Gordon had five catches for 32 yards and one touchdown. The major score came in a 48-9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on December 12.
