It has been a very tough season for the Toronto Raptors. On March 27 they lost 145-101 to the New York Knicks in the worst loss ever at home for the Raptors. At the time, the feeling in Toronto was things could not get worse. Well, on Wednesday, they actually did. In a game in Minnesota, the Raptors had their worst loss ever as they were beaten by 48 points in a 133-85 defeat.

Toronto’s worst loss prior to Wednesday was 46 points in a 125-79 Knicks win on April 15, 1996. The Raptors are also involved in a 15 game losing streak. They have not won since March 3 when they beat the Charlotte Hornets 111-106. This is the second longest losing streak in Raptors’ franchise history, as they lost 17 straight games from November 6 to December 10, 1997.

The Timberwolves’s 48-point win over the Raptors was their second biggest victory ever. They previously beat the Chicago Bulls by 53 points, 127-74 on November 8, 2001.

In the Timberwolves win over the Raptors, six Timberwolves players reached double digits in points. Shooting guard Anthony Edwards of Atlanta, Georgia led the Timberwolves with 28 points. He was followed by power forward Nam Reid of Asbury Park, New Jersey with 23 points, Canadian shooting guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker of Toronto, Ontario with 14 points, point guard Monte Morris of Grand Rapids, Michigan with 13 points, and center Rudy Gobert of Saint-Quentin, France with 11 points. Gobert had a double-double with 15 rebounds.

Minnesota is in first place in the Western Conference. They have a record of 53 wins and 23 losses for a winning percentage of .697. They lead the Denver Nuggets by half a game.
