Tight ends for Bengals and Rams enter the Super Bowl with knee injuries

There was a common theme in the Conference Championships from Sunday. Both tight ends on the winning teams in the games (Tyler Higbee of the Los Angeles Rams and C.J. Uzomah of the Cincinnati Bengals) both suffered knee injuries.
The fortunate news for Higbee is that he avoided significant structural damage according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. Uzomah meanwhile was carted off the field in the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs, and it is believed he suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament according to Ben Baby of ESPN.

More good news for Higbee and Uzomah is the fact there are two weeks between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. This will give both players an extra week to recover than normal.
In the regular season, Higbee had 61 catches for 560 yards and five touchdowns. Uzomah meanwhile had 49 catches for 493 yards and five touchdowns. Meanwhile in the postseason, Higbee has 9 catches for 115 yards in three games, while Uzomah has 13 catches for 135 yards and one touchdown. Uzomah in fact scored the Bengals’ first touchdown in the 2022 National Football League playoffs. It came with four minutes and 31 seconds left in the first quarter on a seven yard pass from Joe Burrow in a 26-19 Bengals win over the Las Vegas Raiders on January 15 in the AFC Wildcard.
Kendall Blanton is next on the Rams tight end depth chart. However he only had four catches for 37 yards last season. Drew Sample is next on the Bengals tight end depth chart. He only had 11 catches for 81 yards.
