Tigers to take $1M-plus offer to Galvin in ‘all-or-nothing’ bid

The Wests Tigers are putting together a long-term extension deal to offer Lachlan Galvin that will either see him stay in Concord for the foreseeable future or confirm he wants to leave the club after the 2026 season.

Though only in his second NRL campaign, Galvin has already solidified himself as one of the biggest stars of the future — and the Tigers know it.

The 19-year-old was a key part of the 32-6 demolition the Tigers inflicted on the Parramatta Eels in the NRL round just gone, and his stellar performance was enough to light a proper fire under Wests’ recruitment team.

Now, the Tigers are putting together a mouthwatering package that would see Galvin paid as much as $1 million each season through a long-term deal; basically, The Sporting Base understands, an ‘all-or-nothing’ approach that will test the waters on Galvin’s future. Should he come back interested, he’ll likely stay at the Tigers through to 2030 at least.

On the other hand, if the $1M-a-season approach is rebuffed, the Tigers will know they will be losing the starlet before too long.

Galvin has a chance to speak to other NRL clubs from November 1 this season, with any contract to then be signed for 2027 onward. The feeling around Concord is he’ll be inundated with offers as soon as that postseason negotiation period begins; the Eels have already been publicly linked to the 19-year-old, while the Sydney Roosters, St George Illawarra Dragons, and Manly Sea Eagles would be at the forefront of a column of suitors.

Newcastle was interested too but has since signed Dylan Brown on the richest deal ever, closing that door.

Should the Tigers keep Galvin then they’ll have a very interesting spine for quite some time: Jahream Bula, Jarome Luai, and Api Koroisau have already linked very well with the 19-year-old in a 1-1 start to the 2025 campaign.
