Tiger Woods records a career-worst performance at Augusta’s 12th hole

Sunday was a fantastic performance by Dustin Johnson. The 36-year-old was the clear winner of the Masters, as he shot a four-round score of -20 to beat Australian Cameron Smith and South Korea’s Sung-jae Im by five strokes.
As Johnson beat Augusta, the 12th hole at the Augusta National Golf Club clearly beat 15-time major champion and five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods. Heading into the 12th hole on Sunday, Woods was at -3. He was two over for his round as he began the day at -5.
However, when Woods approached the only hole on the golf course where all shots are part of Amen Corner, he did not look like one of the best golfers of all-time. As a result, he had a septuple bogey, a score of 10 on a par-three! It would be the worst score Woods has ever shot on one hole of professional golf.
Woods began the hole with a tee shot that went in the water. He instantly had a two-stroke-penalty. Woods then tried to regroup and reach the green again. However, like the golf ball on his tee shot, it rolled back and into the H20.

Woods’s fifth shot then went over the green and into the bunker. There the ball could not roll back and into the water. However, as Woods was in a very uncomfortable position in trying to get the ball out of the bunker, the ball made its way over the green and back in the water. Once again in the bunker, Woods softly got the ball onto the green. There he putted twice for his septuple bogey.
To give Woods credit, he did bounce back with five birdies on his last six holes to move from +4 to -1 and a tie for 38th. Then after his fourth round, he made his way to Butler Cabin and with great professionalism, put the green jacket on champion Dustin Johnson for the first time.
