Three NFL upsets on US Thanksgiving
3 months ago - Sportingbase
Heading into Week 13, I was of the opinion there would be no upsets for the week. Well folks, there were three underdogs that won on the opening day of Week 13 on United States Thanksgiving.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers were the 2.5 point underdog at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday morning. However, it was Green Bay that came through with a 31-24 victory. What we saw was excellence from Packers quarterback Jordan Love of Bakersfield, California. Love completed 18 of 30 passes for 234 passing yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions with a passing rating of 124.2. For the third time in his career, Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks had a multi-touchdown game as he found the end zone on passes of one yard and 22 yards.

Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys beat the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28 as a 3.5 point underdog. The inconsistency in the Chiefs overall game continues. The Chiefs have lost games earlier this season to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers where they were the clear favourites to win, and you can add the Cowboys to the list. Dak Prescott continued to find chemistry with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, who combined for 200 receiving yards.

Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow returned to the Bengals for the first time in two months from a serious toe injury. Burrow gave the Bengals a complete performance in a 32-14 win as a 7.5 point underdog. Burrow hd 261 yards passing and regularly found veteran wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who had seven catches for 110 receiving yards. It was only Cincinnati’s fourth win all season, but their third win with Burrow as the starter.
