National Football League free agency began over a week ago. Here are three more defensive tackles who have switched teams in free agency.
D.J. Reader
The native of Greensboro, North Carolina has played four seasons each with the Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals. He was with the Texans from 2016 to 2019, and with the Bengals from 2020 to 2023. Reader signed a two-year deal worth $22 million with the Detroit Lions on March 14. This past season, Reader had 34 combined tackles (20 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hits, one pass deflection, one quarterback hit, and one sack. Reader had a tackle for a loss and one sack in a 19-16 Bengals win over the Los Angeles Rams on September 25, and another tackle for a loss in a 24-18 Bengals win over the Buffalo Bills on November 5.
Javon Kinlaw
The native of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago has played the last four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, before signing a one-year deal worth $7.25 million with the New York Jets on March 14. This past season, Kinlaw had 25 combined tackles (13 solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, six quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks and three pass deflections. In the Super Bowl on February 11, Kinlaw had four combined tackles in a 25-22 Kansas City Chiefs win over the 49ers.
Raekwon Davis
The native of Meridian, Mississippi has played the last four seasons with the Miami Dolphins before signing with the Indianapolis Colts on a two-year contract worth $14 million on March 15. This past season, Davis had 28 combined tackles (15 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles), six quarterback hits, two tackles for a loss and half a sack. The two tackles for a loss came in a Dolphins’s 24-17 win over the New England Patriots on September 17, and in a 31-16 Dolphins’s 31-16 win over the New York Giants on October 8. Davis also had half a sack in a 34-13 Dolphins’s win over the New York Jets on November 24.
