Probabeel

The glamour mare turned out an amazing trial for the G1 Coolmore legacy next week at Randwick.

She settled at the rear of the field and looked as so she was in for a quiet trial on her return from Melbourne. McEvoy stoked her up before the turn when she was some 10 lengths off the lead. She rattled home producing amazing sectionals to win the trial and show she’s still got plenty of that competitive grit in the tank this preparation. The time was a whole second quicker than the only other 1200m trial on the morning.

When To Bet

I think she looks a special coming back against the fillies and mares in the G1 Coolmore Legacy at Randwick next weekend.

Trifaccia

This Godolphin 2yo still has a lot to learn from what we saw at her latest trial at Randwick but there is no doubting her raw ability.

From a wide gate she was a little tardy and forced to settle last 4 wide, where she wanted to get her head in the air before Rachel King was able to get her to settle before the turn. Despite being the widest runner the whole trip, she cruised down the outside to just miss taking out the trial by a nose.

I’m not sure about the overall quality of the trial with the disclaimer being that the horse that held on finished 4th in his only start at Orange. Nonetheless, the way she closed off demonstrates that she has above average ability.

When To Bet

I’d ideally like her to land at a midweek city 2yo event or even the provincials.

Alura

Alura won her open trial in emphatic fashion and in quick time. The John O’Shea filly settled midfield and when asked to go she demonstrated an impressive change of stride to blow her rivals away by 2 lengths.

When To Bet

Last preparation she had one start where she finished 2nd at Wyong and was put away. I’d love to see O’Shea send her back to the provincials where she will be a great bet.
