The Plunge’s Saturday Review: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 9/1

A promising grey gelding from the Cummings yard caught my eye on the weekend after returning from a 60 week injury layoff.

Subedar

  • Race 4
  • Distance 1400m
  • Class BM 88

Subedar was impressive finishing half a length behind All Time Legend, who once again proved he was a horse destined for black type races. First-up after a 60 week injury lay-off, Subedar settled at the rear of the small field and produced a great run down the outside. For a moment at the 150m the 4yo grey looked like he’d go past the winner but he peaked on his run which indicates he’ll be better with a little more fitness under his belt.

Where To Next

I would love to see Subedar in a similar grade race over 1400m 2nd up and a litte fitter. There is a BM 88 over a mile a fortnight later at Randwick or he may be aimed at the Listed Carrington Stakes over 1400m on the same day.
