A G1 winning 2yo turned 3yo and a heavily supported Cummings sprinter are the two horses to follow from Saturday’s metro meeting at Kembla.

The Plunge’s Service Results:
  • +14.5 units of profit since December
  • 78 bets: 19 wins /25 placings

Captivant – Kembla

  • Race 6
  • Distance: 1100m
  • Class: Group 3 3yos

G1 Champagne Stakes winner Captivant impressed first up in the San Dominico Stakes against some top quality 3yos, where he gave away a fitness advantage to the majority of his rivals.

Captivant was half a stride slow out of the gates and settled towards the rear. He worked into the race nicely at the business end but found both Into the Congo and the fancied Paulele a touch too slick over the 1100m.

When To Bet

Considering he’s won a G1 over 1600m this guy should be one to follow once he gets out to 1400-1600m. He’ll be against some of the countries top 3yos in the Golden Rose series but may slip under the radar.

Andermatt – Kembla

  • Race 9
  • Distance: 1000m
  • Class: BM 78

Andermatt went into Saturday heavily supported after James Cummings all but declared him on morning radio. The son of Snitzel didn’t disappoint producing a huge run to defeat Hulk and Gleneagles.

When To Bet

James Cummings will likely look for one more run in benchmark grade before targeting some black type races. I can see him putting back to back wins together if that is the case.
