The Plunge’s Black Book: Horses Running At Kembla 11/9

A cracking day of racing headlined by the Run to the Rose where the countries top 3yos have their final runs before the G1 Golden Rose in a fortnight. I’ve opened up the black book and found a few that look to be great bets.

Kembla Race 6 – Fituese

Fituese was dominant defeating a lot of these mares 1st up and the market seems to have pegged her as a 1st up specialist where I think she is flying after black booking her at the trials at the beginning of her prep. From barrier 12, she is going to need a gun ride from Rachel King but if she can manage to find some cover back in the field expect to see her fly home late at decent odds.

Tip: 1 Unit Win Fituese @$7.5 With TopSport

Kembla Race 7 – Private Eye

Private Eye is flying and comes to this 2nd up after charging over the top of a lot of these last start. He has has the scope to improve on that run and should benefit from what looks to be a crazy break neck speed up from the likes of Big Parade and Peyton Place. He confirmed last start that he can be as devastating on good tracks as he is on wet.

Tip: 3 Units win Private Eye @$3.8

Kembla Race 8 – Home Affairs

I must declare that I am a massive Anamoe fan and at this stage he is my top pick for the Golden Rose and maybe even the Everest but there are a few strokes against him that make it hard for me to dive in at the short price. After having a minor set back with an elevated temperature, he gives a lot of these top class 3yos a fitness edge on top of the fact the Cummings yard will not have him fully wound up with greater riches in mind. If he is good enough to win today I figure I can square up on him later in the prep.

Home Affairs really stands out as a potential knockout horse. I go back to the Todman Stakes where he finished 0.5L 3rd behind Anamoe and meets him better at the weights here. By all accounts he has come back as a much stronger 3yo and Waller has even whispered suggestions that he could be a potential Everest horse. I love the fact that he’s been prepared for this with 3 impressive trial win. A great each way bet.

Tip: 1 Unit Each Way Home Affairs @18/$4.2
