After the weekend of racing we assess the horses you need to forgive, forget and to follow.

Forgive 

Kurabui – Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr 

3rd of 10 in the 1620 metre Benchmark 90 (Flemington)

Came into the race a strong favourite before the money came for the eventual winner Degraves. However, Kurabui was not disgraced having faced the breeze the trip out three wide whilst Degraves was tucked away nicely behind her. She’s been sent out for a spell now and looks to be a mare on the up heading into Spring.

Amish Boy – Ciaron Maher & David Eustace

4th of 12 in the 1350 metre Listed City Of Ipswich Eye Liner Stakes (Ipswich)

After missing a run in the Group 1 Stradbroke a week ago he looked hard to beat back in Listed company but couldn’t manage a place. Craig Williams had to duck back to the inside to try to find a run and ultimately got clear once it was too late with the winner Snitch having a clear run down the outside. Would’ve loved to see him in the Stradbroke with a lightweight and unfortunately things didn’t go to plan for the talented three-year-old on Saturday. 

Forget

So You Win – Chris Waller  

2nd of 12 in the 2150 metre Listed Ipswich Cup (Ipswich)

Has had an ultra consistent preparation running 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 4th and 2nd but just hasn’t been able to break through for a win. He’s one of those horses that you’d love to own but as a punter So You Win is in the bad books at the moment and is one to forget for now.

Follow 

Dice Roll – Nick Ryan

1st of 11 in the 1420 metre Brian Beattie Handicap (Flemington) 

There were a few nice winners on the day that could’ve featured here but Dice Roll has gone a little under the radar. He got a great run in transit on Saturday to win but he is building a nice record now in Australia and looks like one that could go right on with it in the Spring. He is about to turn Seven so it’s almost now or never for this intriguing galloper and one to look forward to in the Spring.
