Stephen Curry records 15th 50+ point NBA game

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry of Akron, Ohio recorded the 15th 50+ point game of his career on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat by scoring 52 points in a 134-125 Warriors win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Curry made 16 of 31 field goals, 12 of 20 three point shots, and all eight free throw attempts. He had 10 rebounds for the double double, eight assists, five steals, one blocked shot and was a +17.

This was the second time this season Curry eclipsed the 50 point plateau. He scored 56 points in a 121-115 Warriors win over the Orlando Magic on February 27.

In 2024-25, Curry is averaging 24.4 points per game. He is also averaging 6.1 assists per game, 4;4 rebounds per game, and 1.2 steals per game. Curry also has a field goal percentage of .446, three point percentage of .399, and a sensational free throw percentage of .929. Curry’s .929 free throw percentage is the best in the National Basketball Association this season, and his .911 career free throw percentage is the very best in NBA history.

With the win, the Warriors improved to a record of 44 wins and 31 losses. They have the fifth best record in the NBA’s Western Conference.

Remarkably, Curry was not the only player in the NBA on Tuesday night with a 50 point game. Another player to accomplish the feat was Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, as he had 61 points. The difference between Curry’s 52 point game and Jokic’s 61 point game? Curry led the Warriors to a victory. Jokic’s Nuggets lost 140-139 in overtime to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Jokic is actually the second player in the NBA this season to score 60 points in a game and lose to the Timberwolves. De’Aaron Fox had 60 points in a 130-126 Sacramento Kings loss to Minnesota on November 15.
