Should the Pittsburgh Steelers sign one more quarterback?

We obviously know that Aaron Rodgers will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers this season. He is a future first ballot Hall of Fame quarterback and has every right to decide when he thinks is the right time to retire. The Steelers are in a win mode now and Rodgers was one of the best quarterbacks available for their system even though he is 41 years of age.
At this time there is a growing belief that Rodgers will only spend the 2026 National Football League season in Pittsburgh. That is because Rodgers is expected to announce his intentions to retire in the not too distant future.
The question here is, can the argument be made for the Steelers to sign another quarterback? This would be a quarterback that could learn from Rodgers this season and be ready to step into the starting role for the 2026 National Football League regular season. There are currently three other Steelers quarterbacks on the roster. It is fair to say there are a lot of questions about the Steelers starting Will Howard, Mason Rudolph or Skylar Thompson.
At this time, I would be surprised if the Steelers make another addition at quarterback. ESPN has listed their top 17 players that have still not signed a contract this season. None of them are quarterbacks.
However, the Steelers surprised many last year, when they acquired not only Russell Wilson for the 2025 season, but Justin Fields too. Where did Fields end up in the offseason? Ironically, the team Rodgers played last year, the New York Jets.
