For the sixth time in 2025, and for the 19th time in his remarkable golf career, Scottie Scheffler of Ridgewood, New Jersey has won on the PGA Tour. On Sunday, Scheffler posted a four round score of -19 at the Silverado Resort’s North Course in Napa Valley, California. This was the first PGA event in the FedEx Cup Fall schedule.
Scheffler defeated Ben Griffin of Chapel Hill, North Carolina by a stroke, and Lanto Griffin of Mount Shasta, California by two strokes. Ben Griffin was alone in second place at -18, and Lanto Griffin was alone in third place at -17. There were two more golfers in contention. Emiliano Grillo of Resistencia, Argentina and amateur Jackson Koivun of San Jose, California were tied for fourth at -16. Koivun, is currently number one in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, and won the 2024 Haskins Award, presented to the top collegiate golfer in the United States. He attends Auburn University, a school known mostly for its football.
This was Scheffler’s first career win at the Procore Championship. It was also his first win on the FedEx Cup Fall schedule in his career. Scheffler had won in September before, but it was at the 2024 Tour Championship in Atlanta, which was part of the FedEx Cup, and not the fall schedule. Scheffler’s five prior wins in 2025 were at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, the PGA Championship, the Memorial, the British Open, and the BMW Championship.
