Sandown Preview: Moody On The Move

PETER Moody will be out to improve on an already exceptional season as a trainer with a strong quintet of horses in action at Sandown Hillside.

Moody is in his third year since coming back to training and amazingly he sits second on the Melbourne Trainer’s Premiership with 52 winners behind the behemoth stable of Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace who will win with 82 winners.

Leading Moody’s charge on Saturday is the speed mare Dance To Dubai who will carry only 51 kilos after the two kilos claim from Carleen Hefel in the Benchmark 100 over 1000 metres.

Hefel is equal first with Celine Gaudray in the Melbourne Apprentice’s Premiership with 23 winners.

Moody said the classy mare mare had trialled well but his only reservation was that first-up last campaign she went too hard over 1000 metres at Pakenham and she might too the same again.

Dance To Dubai is a $2.40 favourite with TopSport.

Moody’s day will kick off with two-year-old filly Miss Gabbiano in the opening event for two-year-olds and she is $3.50 with TopSport .

Moody speaking on RSN said she was very speedy but still had a lot to learn about racing.

Moody said he thought Daytona Bay in the final race, who will also be ridden by Carleen Hefel had a great chance as he didn’t know to run a bad race and came in well on the weights with only 52 kilos.

Daytona Bay is a $3.60 chance with TopSport.
