The Sydney Autumn Carnival heads to Rosehill for Hobartville and Silver Slipper Day. Our analyst has selected a Golden Eagle placegetter that looks extremely well placed at the weights and off the map and a Baker runner ready to peak 2nd up as the value play.

Best Selection: R5- Makarena

Makarena is a real stand out in this race both controlling on the map and on form. She took the next step last prep winning the G2 Golden Pendant over 1400m at Rosehill. She hasn’t won 1st up yet but is 1/1 over 1300m. Fitness is the only query as she has only had the 1 trial, which she won over 1050m at Randwick.

Value Selection: R9- Wategos

Wategos has 2 wins from 4 2nd up attempts and comes out of a strong form race 1st up. She placed in 3 Listed races at Brisbane in the winter and looks set to race in better races.
