Best Selection: R7- Royal Patronage

Royal Patronage gets a great set up in today’s G2 Hill Stakes. He rolls forward and controls on a much easier tempo what he had to contend with in the high pressure Epsom. He should appreciate stepping up to 1900m as he went back past Arctic Glamour the last 50m after being headed.

His 1L 3rd to Fangirl under WFA conditions 2 starts back has him in good shape for this.

Value Selection: R3- Mare of Mt Buller

Mare of Mt Buller represents good value in Race 3. The Doomben Roses runner up showed she had returned in fine order when hitting the line nicely after being held up for 0.6L 3rd behind Firestorm 1st up. She arguably should’ve won. Her 2nd up 8th over 1800m here was disappointing but forgivable. Waller runners can often race flat 2nd up. She finds a nice race to make amends here.
