Ronaldo dazzles as Portugal leave it late to defeat Hungary

Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo made history overnight as he became the top scorer of the European Championships.
Only one player in football history has scored 11 goals at the European Championships:

His two goals against Hungary helped his side to a 3-0 victory as they look to defend their European Championship triumph from 2016.
This is Ronaldo’s fifth start at the European Championship with his first appearance in 2004.
It was Portugal’s first game of the tournament in front of 60,000 fans as Hungary held the defending champions till the 84th minute where Raphaël Guerreiro finished from close range.
Ronaldo then converted a penalty three minutes later to make it 2-0 and put the game to bed.
His second and final goal was a tap-in after dribbling around Hungary’s goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

Portugal now moves to first in what many people are calling the group of death with France and Germany the other two teams involved.
In the other game, France edged out Germany after a Mats Hummels own goal secured the victory for the World Cup Champions.
Portugal are the underdogs as they prepare to play Germany on June 20, at 2 am AEDT, as France takes on Hungary at 11 pm on June 19.
