Randwick: Everest Best Selection 19/10
1 year ago - Sportingbase
On paper this is the most even Everest we’ve seen in its’ 8 year existence. We’re siding with an untapped 3yo that proved he was up to this grade last start.

Everest Best Selection: Growing Empire
Growing Empire brings untapped x-factor in this year’s Everest. He was so brave going down in the shadows of the post in the G1 Manikato last start when the fellow on-speed runners faded a long way out. He could easily land 1 out 1 back from gate 7 with the likes of Stefi Magnetica, Joliestar and Giga Kick drawn underneath. He brings better form than what past 3yo winners Giga Kick and Yes Yes Yes brought in what shapes as a much more even field this year.

Value Selection: Bella Nipotina
Bella has drifted out to double figure odds and looks a nice value play. She is by far the most consistent horse in the field, is in career best form and won the G1 Doomben 10 000 on a Soft 7 back in the winter. She is versatile enough to press forward from the wide gate and find cover given a touch of luck. If the pattern of the day sees them getting to the wider lanes then the outside gate becomes a positive.
