Randwick Best Selection & Value Play 26/10
1 year ago - Sportingbase
A very interesting card at Randwick today headlined by the G1 Spring Champion Stakes. Our analyst has done the form and found a Ryan & Alexiou 3yo that looks well suited stepping up to 1600m and a Waterhouse/Bott 4yo that get favours controlling a race with limited tempo as the Value Play.

Best Selection: R5- Just Party
Just Party looks well suited jumping up to 1600m after flashing home from the rear in the Tapp-Craig. Going from Rosehill to the large Randwick surface also looks to be in his favour. He only needs a touch of luck on the turn from where he will be positioned from the inside gate.

Value Selection: R10- Townsend
Townsend look great value in the final race of the day. The Waterhouse/Bott 4yo should be suited to sitting on-speed in a race where there doesn’t look to be too much speed engaged.
As a 2yo he finished 2.8L 3rd behind Militarize in the G1 Champagne Stakes, which shows he has ability. He is 1st up off a 13-month break but has been gelded in that time. He has prepared with 3 trials, the latest he looked good running 2nd.
The blinkers are on with 52kg on the back, likely rolling forward all look a recipe for a forward showing after a long break.
