Rams sign quarterback Carson Wentz

According to the Associated Press on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams are signing quarterback Carson Wentz of Raleigh, North Carolina. The Rams are the fourth team Wentz has played for following the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders.
Wentz has not played this season as of yet. A year ago he completed 172 of 276 passes for 1755 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his only season in Washington. Wentz also had 22 rushes for 86 rushing yards and another major score. On February 27, the Commanders released Wentz after only one season, as they committed to Sam Howell.
The Rams were in need of a quarterback because Matt Stafford is dealing with a sprained thumb injury and Brett Rypien was simply not effective on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Rypien only completed 13 of 28 passes for 130 passing yards with one interception and two fumbles.
Los Angeles won their first game of the year as they stunned the Seattle Seahawks 30-13. However since then they have only won two of eight games. Their other wins came on October 1 when they beat the Indianapolis Colts 29-23 in overtime, and on October 15, when they beat the Arizona Cardinals 26-9.
There is no doubt that the Rams have a solid receiving group, led by former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp of Yakima, Washington, and explosive rookie Puka Nacua of Las Vegas, Nevada. The issue however is the fact that Wentz has a history of being slow. He has been sacked 237 times in his NFL career since joining the Eagles in 2016.
