According to Brooke Pryor of ESPN on Monday, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin of Hampton, Virginia has tested positive for coronavirus. He has minimal symptoms at this time.
There are currently 925,366 cases of coronavirus in the state of Pennsylvania, and 23,882 deaths, including 75 fatalities within the last 24 hours. There have also been 84,600 active cases of coronavirus, while 816, 884 people from Pennsylvania have recovered.
Tomlin is currently 48 years old, and has been the Steelers head coach for the last 14 seasons. In that time, he has had a record of 145 wins, 78 losses and one tie. In 2020, the Steelers posted a record of 12 wins, and four losses, for a winning percentage of .650.
In the postseason, the Steelers have had a record of eight wins, and eight losses since 2007 when Tomlin became the Steelers head coach. Three of those wins came in the 2009 NFL postseason as the Steelers won their sixth Super Bowl in franchise history. The Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The game will forever be remembered for Santonio Holmes’s game-winning touchdown catch of six yards which gave the Steelers a four-point win. Tomlin, meanwhile, became the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl as he was 36 years old at the time.

Tomlin becomes the fifth NFL head coach over the last year who has tested positive for the disease. He follows former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn, former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, and Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. It should be noted that Lynn is now the offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions, while Pederson is no longer the head coach of the Eagles.
